Attend Service

We’re so excited you’re here! There’s nothing more important than getting better connected and being welcomed in a new church! We know how difficult it is to navigate new surroundings and find a place to call home. Walking into a new church for the first time can be both intimidating and overwhelming. Here are a few things that should help:

Service Times

First service: 8:45 am – Sanctuary

The 1st Service brings the message of Jesus Christ in a traditional worship service with a blend of contemporary expression. It is a classical worship that remains family friendly with attendees typically in more formal attire. Music styles at the 1st Service include classical piano, organ and choir, as well as contemporary jazz, keyboard, and guitar.

Second service: 11:00 am (10:30 am in June, July and August)  – Multi-Purpose Room

The 2nd Service strives to express the core values of Jesus Christ in a way that is relevant to our culture. It is a “come-as-you-are” environment that is family friendly, and people tend to dress more casually. The 2nd Service has a music style that ranges from a rock band set-up one week, to an intimate acoustic set-up the next.

What questions do you have about life at Faith Church?

What time do services begin?

Typical service times are 8:45am in the sanctuary and 11am in the multi-purpose room. We do have some special combines service times throughout the year. You can always check the home page of our website to be sure.

In general, Fall/Winter/Spring Service times are typically at 8:45 a.m. in the Sanctuary and 11:00 a.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room.

Summer services (June, July, August) are at 8:45 am and then 10:30 a.m.

Spiritual Formation Classes for all ages take place from 10 – 10:45 a.m. September – May. Check the weekly news for details.

Does your church livestream services?

We livestream every service. You can watch services live or view any past service on our YouTube page: Faith Reformed Church-Zeeland – YouTube

What should I expect when I visit?

Hopefully a warm welcome from friendly people! Uplifting worship, prayer, scripture and a meaningful message. Dress is casual.

What time should I arrive at church?

People typically arrive 5-10 minutes before the service begins (but some arrive earlier.) You are welcome to come early, grab a coffee in the gathering area, ask questions of people, and then go find a seat in service.

Is there something special for kids?

Yes! We have nursery available for our littlest kids. During the services, kids 4 years old – 2nd grade are excused part way through the service for a special Children and Worship time downstairs. We also have spiritual formation classes (Sunday School) at 10am for all ages. Nursery in available during this time as well.

I am a young adult. Is there anything I should know?

Welcome! We have a large number of young adults attending here. Connect with Danyelle Roon dhop@faithrc.org to get plugged in. Check HERE for the latest events.

How do I become a member?

We would love for you to join us for a time to see if our church is a good fit for you or your family. To pursue membership, connect with our office manager Sue Bartels sbartels@faithrc.org.

Typically, once a year, we hold a Faith Discovery Class. This two-Sunday, staff-led class provides you with an informative and interactive opportunity to find out more about Faith Church and the opportunities you may want to explore. You can get more information about these classes and when they are held by contacting Sue Bartels or Pastor TJ.

I have questions about Communion.

Why Do We Serve Communion?

Communion, also known as the Lord’s Supper or Eucharist, is a sacred practice that reminds us of Jesus’ sacrifice and love. We serve communion as an act of worship, reflection, and unity. It’s a time to remember Christ’s death and resurrection, and to celebrate the grace we receive through Him.

When Does Faith Church Serve Communion?

Most often, Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month. However, there are some exceptions to that:

  • In March, 1st Sunday of Lent (varies)
  • In April, Maundy Thursday (varies)
  • In September, we typically hold communion on our fall Kick Off Sunday (which is the Sunday after Labor Day)
  • In late November/December, 1st Sunday of Advent
  • Christmas Eve Service

How Is Communion Served?

We use bread and juice to represent the body and blood of Christ. Our elders serve intinction style. How does this work? We invite everyone to come forward and take bread from an elder, and then dip the bread in the juice held by another elder. For those that are unable to come forward, a pastor or elder will come to your seat to serve you.

Who Can Participate?

At Faith Church, everyone who believes in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is welcome to participate in communion, regardless of church membership or background. If you’re still exploring faith, you’re welcome to observe or ask questions—there’s no pressure at all. Parents, you can decide and have discussions with your children about communion and if you feel your children understand. They are welcome to. We believe communion is a personal and meaningful experience, and we invite you to take part as you feel led.

How do I go about making Profession of Faith or baptizing a child here?

To begin the Profession of Faith process, talk to Pastor TJ or Danyelle Roon or Sue Bartels. To pursue baptism, connect with Sherrie Brower in the church office at sbrower@faithrc.org.

Can I join a Bible study or attend spiritual formation classes?

We would love to have you join us! See our adults page HERE to see what classes are offered during this season. You are welcome to join anytime!

Our Youth Ministry (middle school and high school students) is always welcoming more friends! FAITH STUDENT MNISTRY

PreK – 5th graders are our Faith Kids! Find more information here FAITH KIDS

Where can I get more information about what is happening at Faith Church?

Stop by before or after the worship services and experience a warm welcome in the Gathering Area. Lots of information is available there – from Children’s programs, youth events, adult opportunities and senior ministries. Coffee hosts can also tell you more about opportunities available and answer any questions you might have about us!

For members and those that attend Faith Church regularly, the church office sends two emails each week: the care update and the weekly newsletter. The are posted on our website HERE, but if you would like these delivered to your email each week, fill out THIS FORM so we can add your email address to our system.

Is there a church directory?

We do not have a printed directory with photos, names and contact information. However, Faith Church uses REALM, an online church software program, for many different things, including an always-updated church directory. It is a convenient way to find contact information for members, sign up and pay for church events, and also a way to set up online giving.

Congregation members can use the REALM website or download the free app to help locate other church members and find their contact information.

You will need permission from the church office to have access to this directory. Find more information here: REALM INFORMATION

What if I have more questions?

Church staff or congregation members would be happy to answer any questions you have about Faith Church on Sunday mornings. During the week, you can also stop by or contact the church office at (616) 772-2418 Monday – Friday from 9am-4pm.

You can also send an email to the church office at info@faithrc.org at any time.
