Engage In Local Missions
In a world that needs Christ more than ever, you can strengthen and grow the global church through ministries of compassion, developing leaders, and sharing the good news.
Blessed to be a blessing. As Christians we not only get the opportunity to share in relationship with God, but also we have the privilege to share His blessings with those around us. Those blessing are shared through us in forms of prayer, serving, and giving. We can pray for local and global missions and intercede on their behalf, praying for their staff, the people they serve, and specific prayer requests. We can also serve local and global missions by joining into the work they do, and using our hands and feet to share God’s blessings. We can also give monetary and specific needs to local and global missions, enabling them to continue the work God has called them to do.
Our hope at Faith Church is to invite you into a spiritual journey of engaging in missions.
June Mission of the Month: RCA Global Mission Refugee Fund
In our world today, more than 122 million people are forcibly displaced from their homes and are in need of protection and refuge. RCA Global Mission partners and mission personnel are working around the world to provide for the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of refugees and displaced people. We’re also focused on sustainable development to prevent people from becoming displaced in the first place. Learn more at www.rca.org/global-mission/refugees/
World Refugee Day is June 20. It is an international day to honor refugees around the globe, celebrate the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their homes to escape conflict or persecution, and lament the circumstances that led to their forced displacement and harrowing journeys to find refuge. World Refugee Day offers us an opportunity to build empathy and understanding for the plight of refugees, to recognize their resilience, to pray for displaced people and their homelands, and to take time to discern how God is calling us, as Christ followers, to provide compassionate care for refugees and other displaced people.
We will hear from Scott Englesman, Chief Mission Officer at the RCA , on June 22 and receive the offering during worship on June 29. You can give throughout the month online HERE (select MISSIONS under the fund menu.)
