Engage In Local Missions
In a world that needs Christ more than ever, you can strengthen and grow the global church through ministries of compassion, developing leaders, and sharing the good news.
Blessed to be a blessing. As Christians we not only get the opportunity to share in relationship with God, but also we have the privilege to share His blessings with those around us. Those blessing are shared through us in forms of prayer, serving, and giving. We can pray for local and global missions and intercede on their behalf, praying for their staff, the people they serve, and specific prayer requests. We can also serve local and global missions by joining into the work they do, and using our hands and feet to share God’s blessings. We can also give monetary and specific needs to local and global missions, enabling them to continue the work God has called them to do.
Our hope at Faith Church is to invite you into a spiritual journey of engaging in missions.
Are you looking for a ministry to support with gifts of time or money? Here is a list of local missions:
September Mission of the Month: Midtown Counseling Center
We will once again partner with Midtown Counseling Services in Holland. Midtown Counseling Services is a Christian counseling center with a variety of family psychotherapy services. Midtown is a team of licensed counselors certified to provide traditional therapy. For over 16 years of service, no one is refused counseling regardless of ability to pay. They provide psychotherapy to assist clients with anxiety, depression, grief & loss, self-esteem, anger, relationship issues, spirituality-based issues, and family and marriage counseling.
David Wood is the new Executive Director at Midtown and he will be here to share with us on September 21. We will receive the mission of the month offering on Sunday, September 28, but you can contribute throughout the month either in the offering plate or online HERE (select MISSION OF THE MONTH under the fund menu.)
October Mission of the Month: RCA Missionaries Felipe and Janelle deWaard-Silva
Felipe and Janelle work with youth and the larger community in the Jiu Valley in Vulcan, Romania. At the Fără Limite Climbing Gym, they build trust, perseverance, character, and courage through rock climbing and an education program. This ministry provides youth an environment where they can experience safety and respect, develop life skills, pursue education, and come to know the love of Christ. Kids find joy and a safe community as they prepare to climb or as they sit next to trusted, caring staff members to catch up on their reading. Cheers of encouragement and warm embraces provide a glimpse into the family they’ve built here, a stark contrast to many of the kids’ lives outside these walls. Felipe and Janelle have also planted Anchor Church, which is building a strong core of disciples.
We will receive the mission of the month offering on Sunday, October 26, but you can contribute throughout the month either in the offering plate or online HERE (select MISSION OF THE MONTH under the fund menu.)
